This is the most beautiful theater I have ever been to. We had excellent seats and enjoyed the performance very much. I like that they are using the new walk-through security system (like Walt Disney World) and a manager helped me when I had an issue with the tickets on my phone.

Formerly known as the Boston Opera House, this theater is the most beautiful one I've seen. It's super ornate. Arrive early so you have time to buy a drink. During intermission make sure you book it to the ladies room if you want to beat the huge line. Book a parking spot nearby using Spot Hero.
Stunning opera house that was originally built as a movie theater in 1928. The Boston Opera House originally called the B.F. Keith Memorial Theater was...
As tonight's performance was lining up to pass thru tight security, you can't help but notice the history all around this landmark yet WICKED IS ABOUT TO...

This show was absolutely fantastic! ELZABETH stand in was outstanding. We went to performance on Saturday afternoon. Two of my crew of 6 had never seen it before. A day like this is rare and memorable. Love Wicked.

What an experience!! I came for the first time to see Wicked and both the show and the theatre blew me away. I sat Row E ORCH RIGHT and it was a great view....
We came here to see wicked, and our experience was perfect. As you walk in the grand doors, some workers meet you and scan your ticket. You then pass through the metal detector, and then strait into the concourse. This whole process took less than 3 minutes, so we had plenty of time to go explore more of the theater. The show was amazing, as expected, a five star experience!!!!
Saw a touring production of Wicked at this theatre today. It was a really wonderful show. The opera house itself is grand and ornate, truly a gem of the Boston theatre district. The show was pretty full for a matinee and yet every person on staff was patient and friendly. We had no issues finding our seats. The one downside is the seats are small and kind of cramped. Otherwise it is a great place to see any touring show. I feel there should be a mention of the audio people running the sound. We were all the way up in the last row of the center balcony and had no issues hearing the actors. There was never a moment when their mics dropped, things got muddled or too loud. We are already looking forward to returning for Hamilton and Beetlejuice!Edit: masks are currently required (also vaccine cards but no one seemed to check them). I know some folks are complaining about the mask wearing but in all honesty it didn't bother me much at all. Pretty much every person I saw was abiding by the policy. We have to be mindful that this theatre is a business and like all businesses holds the right to change their policies based on what they feel is best for their guests and employees.

I went to my first Broadway musical here and I had a great experience! I came in seconds before the show started (parking issues) and they made sure to rush me in so that I could be there on time. The architecture was beautiful and the musical, Wicked was fantastic. During intermission the bathrooms system was fast. Most people made it in on time for Act 2. I would recommend going to the bathroom as soon as you can. I really enjoyed my time here and would recommend it to other people.

This is a beautiful venue. A gem of Boston. The architecture of the Opera House is simply stunning. Arrive here early to take in the beauty of this venue. Located in the theater district you are surrounded by endless attractions, food, street vendors and the people of Boston. My people. I assure you it will be a Wicked good time.

Grand entrance and not a bad seat in the house. I've been to several performances at this theater, sat in a different section every time, and have never been disappointed. If you're looking for Playbill touring shows without all the fuss and expense, this is the place to be! Venue staff are accommodating, the seats are relatively comfortable, parking can be a pain so take the Uber, and be sure to have your vaccination card as this is one of the few venues still strictly enforcing the mask up/vaccinate policy.

The performance Wicked was amazing. The Opera house is neat. Could see well. Seats are pretty compact. The sound was good. Snacks and drinks are available.

We've been to performances at this lovely venue before and it really is wonderful. While I respect the venue's decisions as to masks being required or not being required, at the time we purchased our very expensive tickets for Wicked, masks were not required. We would not have purchased said tickets if they were because we cannot tolerate the requirement of a mask for a 3+ hour performance. Since this changed after our purchase, we certainly should have been able to get a refund or a credit to a future show. If something of this magnitude changes, we should have the option to opt out. Hopefully we will be able to resell our tickets, but with all of the fees it will no doubt be at a loss.

Lovely spot to catch an Off Broadway show! Decent selection at concessions. Would recommend to get dinner before or grab your coffee before as well since that's not served.
We came to see Wicked and boy were we impressed. The theater was absolutely beautiful, definitely one of the top three theaters I've been at. The theater...
Very nice venue, good visibility from mezzanine and balcony. They could improve refreshment options and provide covers for drinks, but overall still a good experience!

Beautiful theatre!! Made for a memorable night out with my young adult daughters. Vaccine cards and masks required.

Beautiful opera house right in downtown Boston. We saw Wicked there tonight and it was great. The details inside are fantastic. They still have a mask policy in place so just be aware if you are going to a show anytime soon.
I love the Boston Opera House. We see Broadway shows here and enjoy the Nutcracker. Today, for a gift I received on Mother's Day, I went to see Swan Lake....

Magnificent performance space adorned with gilded decor and ornate crown molding. Had a lovely time celebrating Mother's Day watching Boston Ballet.

Beautiful place! Went to see the Ballet and was not disappointed! Good viewing angles even from far back.

We’ve been lucky to see some amazing performances at this beautiful theater! Temptations, To Kill a Mockingbird, Jesus Christ Superstar & Hadestown. They do an amazing job managing the restrooms during intermission. We can’t wait for our next show!
15:49 04 May 22
Absolutely marvelous experience & play. The "To Kill a Mockingbird" production was truly a pleasure to watch & the cast was amazing. The only downside was realizing how little things have actually changed since Harper Lee wrote the book in 1960, or in 1935 which is when the story is set. We can do so much better as a society!

Beautifully restored theater venue. Covid and security protocols were handled clearly and consistently for everyone entering. Great place to see a live musical or play. Extensive mezzanine seating, all of which give great views of the stage. Sound system is excellent. Hadestown performance was beyond expectations. If anything they are doing even better checking people in and consistently reinforcing the mask rules. Mockingbird was wonderful.
One of the most helpful and nice employees I've come across, they make the experience so much better! The venue is really beautiful with sights to adore and a great seating arrangement that makes it easy to get out of your seat in multiple ways. One thing I wished that was better was the availability of drinks/beverages (they were pricey) during intermissions as there were huge lines. Management - if you're seeing this, the male toilets need better privacy guards for the urinals and no-touch faucets!

The most incredible modern day renovation. When I was involved with the MASSACHUSETTS CULTURAL ALLIANCE back in the 80's we had hoped that beautiful venues would be rehabbed for the Arts, this is a true treasure and the perfect place for a magnificent gift to the city as are the incredible performances of the Boston Ballet.

Went to see Pretty Woman the Musical. The venue still looks like it did from years gone by. The chandeliers were beautiful. The whole venue was so ornate.
12:14 25 Jan 22
Beautiful theater. Though my seats were high up, I still had a good view, until someone very tall sat in front of me. I had watch the first act only able to see half of the play. However, after intermission, I moved over to an empty seat, it was better.

What a strange time to be visiting a large venue, but things are getting back to closer to normal and it felt good to attend a show. The doormen and ticket takers were so happy and polite! The employees encouraged safety and had a few patrons who were not adhering to mask rules escorted out. We attended Pretty Woman the musical which was outstanding. The singers were amazing, their acting refined, & the production hit all important points of the hit movie while introducing some original ad libs! They even blew us away with beyond-skilled A+++ Opera singers where appropriate in the Opera house scenes! It was truly remarkable. Plan to eat and drink prior if you can - those lines were long and people were frustrated. We skipped all that fuss and had the best time. ItWas really easy to exit the venue and get an uber after as well.

I had a great time watching Pretty Woman. The show was amazing, but I’m going to give this rate 3 stars due to a racial discrimination experience I felt with one of the ushers, ( attached picture 1 & 2 of a white haired elderly lady standing at the foot of the stairs ) and how the manager just listened and walk away after we told her the whole situation. No action from her at all.First, I am a pro mask person and always follow the rules in wearing them all the time. My niece and I sat in one of the chairs with both our drinks in our hand. I pulled down my mask to drink. Suddenly I was approached by the elderly lady asking me to put my mask back up. I informed her I just drank ( literally 2seconds) and she was right on my face, I am aware that I have to pull back my mask after, butShe said “ Yes I know, but you can still drink with your mask on” . I said how? “ she demonstrated with her mask on to stretch the lower section of the mask near my neck and insert the drink inside my mask. I said really? That’s is hard. I can’t drink properly if I do that. She insisted in a rude manner. that is the right way. I said I am pro mask, and this is the first time hearing her instructions in how to drink without taking off my mask for a second. I was horrified as she literally insisted I do that. While we were talking another lady approached me and said she was also told to do the same. She did not even bother to call out my niece sitting beside me literally drinking and doing the same thing I did, pulling her mask down to drink. My niece is white and she defended both myself and the other lady who had the same experience I just had. I am so proud of her for standing and defending us. That’s the right thing to do. She did not call her out, along with another white couple who were standing near the wall ( 3rd picture attached) who were drinking and took off their masks. We asked for the manager that night, she came but didn’t do anything at all. Listened and walk away. Very, very disappointing. The lady who approached was an immigrant like me. This is not right. It appeared that the usher is picking only women with color. I sat there to observe and can really see and tell a lot of people who were drinking pulling their masks down to drink like I did, and were not called out because they were white like the usher. I can’t believe it’s surreal! We are all created equally, regardless of color. We are all human beings who exist in this earth and deserves a fair treatment. I am hoping that the citizens Boston opera house management will do action to correct her behavior. Its unacceptable.

We attended The Nutcracker here in late December, mezzanine seats. It was absolutely amazing. The decor is just so grand, you are left in awe. And to think this theatre is almost a hundred years old! We will definitely visit again, hopefully with orchestra seats.

What an amazing performance! Again amazing! The theater itself is beautiful!!! Definitely a ten out of ten on the venue and the ballet! If you’re on the fence about it do it! You will absolutely not regret it! It was a beautiful rendition of the nutcracker and the staff was helpful and dedicated. The dancers were so good it was an emotional experience but so stunning. Can’t wait to see another performance here in the future!
What, did you expect me to come and give a 100-year old theater anything less than five stars? I've seen the Nutcracker here twice now. I saw Annie and...

Absolutely gorgeous historic setting for theatre in Boston. I love coming back here. Just wish the women's bathrooms had a few more stalls!

We've seen two shows here. It's a beautiful old opera house with amazing details and there's not a bad view in the house. Plenty of nearby parking and eating options, and a great variety of shows offered.
It felt like coming home today - so glad to have theater back! Very impressed with the vaccination verification process and the efforts of staff to remind everyone to start masked. Thank you for all your hard work!!

Opera House was beautiful! Staff were outgoing and accommodating. Our seats were great. We saw Hadestown, it was amazing! Sound was incredible, lighting was magical. Excellent experience here. Will definitely come back here again!!!!!

Incredibly ornate theatre, comfortable seats but not much leg room. Gorgeous lobbies.
I try to see everything they produce - every show is stunning! I really recommend doing student rush if you can, the ticket prices are reasonable and the seats were always nice when I did it. I can't wait to go back after the pandemic is over.

Beautiful place to come and watch a show. The nutcracker ballet is the best performance to go see here. Love the architecture and interior design. The art work on the walls are clearly well preserved which brings a vintage wonderful feel to this theater.

Beautiful theater! Good acoustics! Drinks available... Which are on the pricy side and served cool not cold. Helpful staff. Enjoyed my show. Good connectivity to public transport. Buses and T.
I was totally impressed by the staff here at the BOH. we had a larger woman in the party and Laura Marie was so kind and helpful in finding us 4 seats...
Not to be confused with the Bots-done Opera House, which is run by Bots and so is both automated and awful. So I was able to see The Nutcracker a little...
Great restoration on a classic theater. This place isn't large so even the balcony seats view isn't bad. There are a lot very steep steps to get up there. They have a couple bars where you can purchase liquor, wine and beer before and during the show. Before the show starts they have wait staff wandering around who can take your order from your seat. Just be warned the drinks aren't sold at discount prices. They have a gift shop too. Saw the Nutcracker there and it was excellent. You can park in the Lafayette garage which is a block away. Will cost about $20. Beware the garage elevators were not working at the time and we had to take the stairs. Hopefully they'll fix that. The T has a stop close by. Beautiful place to see theater.
I was so excited to come see Nutcracker for the first time as well as my first time in this Opera House. The location is fantastic, in the theater district...
